Curbing Corruption Requires Capability, Collaboration Of All – EFCC Chairman

Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Olanipekum Olukayode, has underscored the necessity for collaboration and capability constructing of safety businesses to deal with corruption.
Olukayode stated this through the commencement of the Executive Leadership and Strategic Management Course, Batch 5/2024, of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC), on Friday in Abuja.
Represented by the Secretary to the Commission, Mr Mohammad Hamman-Joda, the EFCC boss emphasised the significance of coaching senior managers in safety businesses as key to curbing corruption within the nation.
He reiterated the dedication of the fee to proceed to coach to be forward of the criminals, who’re at all times making an attempt to advance.
According to him, there are plenty of improvements when it comes to crime, significantly crypto-currency.
“So, we have to up our game to catch them, if not, we will be left behind.
“We have trained a total of 100 participants from the EFCC, along with other participants from sister security agencies, Department of State Security, DSS, Defense Intelligence Agency, DIA and Nigerian Army amongst others,” he stated.
Olukayode stated that the coaching was performed in 5 batches, with contributors drawn from senior and center cadres of the fee.
He expressed the hope that the information gained would influence positively on operations of the EFCC whereas appreciating NARC for the wealth of expertise they shared.
“We look forward to more collaboration in the future,” he stated.
The EFCC boss expressed condolences to President Bola Tinubu, the Nigerian Army and Nigerians on the dying of Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
The Director-General of NARC, retired Maj.-Gen. Garba Wahab, stated the course was designed to carry contributors from the safety structure collectively to know themselves and the challenges forward.
Wahab stated the coaching would additionally improve the extent of collaboration and cooperation between the safety businesses saddled with the duty of combating corruption for higher efficiency.
According to him, the answer to Nigeria’s issues lies with them, and the options should come from them.
“Joint coaching is the way in which ahead, so that everyone will know their strengths and weaknesses and perceive one another.
“Somewhere alongside the road, it’s not doable for one company to unravel the safety state of affairs they’re going through, not solely in Nigeria, anyplace on the planet.
“Above all, reach across boundaries and borders to make friends, socialise, network and that is one of the challenges it brings to the participants,” Wahab stated. (NAN)
