Darboe hails tour as key to boosting UDP assist
Ousainou Darboe, chief of the United Democratic Party (UDP), has described his not too long ago concluded nationwide tour as a major success, claiming it spurred widespread defections to his get together forward of the upcoming presidential election.
Speaking on Coffe Time present, Darboe expressed enthusiasm in regards to the tour’s outcomes, which he known as the “Defection Tour”.
“It was the most exciting tour we have ever undertaken, and we purposely named it the ‘Defection Tour’ because it was about reconnecting with people and strengthening ties as we prepare for the next election. We must do better this time to position The Gambia for progress,” he stated.
He acknowledged challenges in some areas, significantly the Upper River Region (URR), the place he famous morale had dipped.
However, he expressed optimism that the tour had revitalised get together supporters.
“The tour has boosted their morale significantly. In areas like Central River Region (CRR) North, we witnessed many defections to the UDP,” he added.
