Lawyer Ousainu Darboe, opposition chief of the United Democratic Party(UDP), has known as on Gambians to not permit themselves to be deceived by politicians who claimed to have introduced highway growth initiatives to them, stating that the mission prices don’t belong to any politician, however Gambians.

During a political rally in Jarra Soma on the UDP nationwide tour, the veteran opposition chief downplays what he calls a ‘culture of doing a favour’ about one’s mandate for nationwide growth. 

“The financing of the highway initiatives they [politicians] are bragging about doesn’t come from their pockets. Everything about it belongs to the Gambian residents. Let us not settle for this tradition of ‘I am doing you s favour’. Nobody is doing favours for you by growing the roads you profit from. I’m telling you that the contract is signed by them [government], however that doesn’t imply that they’re doing favours to residents,’’ Ousainu Darboe burdened in a gathering at Jarra Soma.

He frowned on the President for blaming electorates who didn’t vote for him [President] within the 2021 presidential election, including that these electorates selected to vote in opposition to the President as a result of he had didn’t fulfill his 2016 guarantees to them.

‘’The motive they [electorates] didn’t vote for the President in 2021 was that he didn’t fulfill his guarantees to them. Had he fulfilled his guarantees, the electorates he’s blaming would have voted for him once more,’’ Darboe pointed.

He known as on Gambians to vote out the federal government of President Adama Barrow in 2026, claiming the nation is heading in an undesirable course that must be safeguarded by residents of The Gambia.
