The Gambia’s minister of knowledge, Dr Ismaila Ceesay, has stated that the nation’s economic system has improved considerably beneath the Barrow administration, claiming the nation’s economic system has grown by 5.9% since assuming workplace in 2017.

According to the Gambia Bureau of Statistics 2020 report, the nation’s poverty charge was 53.4%, which stood at 1,441,800.

In response to Gambia For All criticism, Dr Cessay described the social gathering as attempting to be related.

“The Gambia is one of the most progressive countries in the sub region when it comes to fiscal and monetary policy. Our economy is growing. We’ve controlled inflation. Our debt ratio has gone down. Our debt to GDP ratio has gone up from 85% to 65%. Inflation has gone down to almost 10%,” he stated.

“Our economy is growing to 5.9 by the end of the year. So for me, I think what these people are saying, whether it’s GFA or I’m not even sure, what that entity is,” he added.
