Fortune Football Club secured a slim 1-0 victory over Team Rhino FC, propelling them to the highest place within the Gambia Football Federation Division 1 League.

The first half was a tense goalless draw. However, within the second half, Fortune’s midfield maestro, Ebou Sanyang, transformed a penalty after Bakary Jawara was fouled within the field halfway via the encounter.

With this win, Fortune FC moved forward of Hart FC, a lot to the delight of their coach, Jane Joof. He expressed to reporters after the match that his workforce had been anticipating a victory towards Team Rhino.

“I am very much pleased and delighted with the result of the game as we know it was the three points we were looking for. As we were the team that played last in Week 5. We were behind Hart FC when they played over the weekend. We told the boys this is a game we really need to win to go back on top,” Jane stated throughout the post-match interview.

The Fortune FC coach, Jane Joof, underscored the significance of consistency on the pinnacle of the Gambian League, emphasising his workforce’s want to strategy matches one after the opposite.

“The most important thing is consistency, in the Gambian League when you are on top you need to be consistent with your performance. So what we are doing is taking it game by game and then trying to perform to our maximum.”
