The Bonsa Head works that produces 75 per cent of potable water for residents of Tarkwa and its environs, has been shut down by the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWL), Tarkwa.

A press release issued on January 2, 2025, and signed by Mr Wisdom Doe Akoto, District Manager, GWCL-Tarkwa, mentioned the Company have tried all that they might however to no vail, therefore the closure.

Madam Rose Abbah, a dealer and resident at market circle, lamented that as a result of water scarcity within the constituency, there was the probability of outbreak of communicable illnesses for the reason that numerous public well being protocols couldn’t be adhered to.
