INEC Declares Soludo Winner of Anambra Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Chukwuma Soludo the winner of the November 8 Anambra State governorship election.

Announcing the results on Sunday morning, the State Returning Officer, Professor Edoba Omoregie, Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, confirmed that Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), secured a decisive victory with 422,664 votes.

Key Contenders and Vote Tally

Soludo’s closest rival, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), garnered 99,445 votes. The candidate for the Young People Party (YPP), Paul Chukwuma, finished in third place with 37,753 votes, while Dr. George Moghalu of the Labour Party secured a distant fourth with 10,576 votes.

“I, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the Anambra state governorship election held on November 8, 2025,” Omoregie stated. “The election was keenly contested and a winner emerged as the candidate with the highest number of votes cast. I therefore declare that Soludo Charles Chukwuma of the APGA, having satisfied the requirements of the law and having scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”
