Jonathan urges endurance following AFCON exit, guarantees sturdy comeback
Jonathan McKinstry, head coach of the senior soccer group, has referred to as for endurance from Gambians following the group’s elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Despite the setback, McKinstry stays optimistic in regards to the future and has assured followers of a decisive comeback.

Fondly known as “Johny” by Gambians, McKinstry took over from Tom Saintfiet, who stepped down after main the Scorpions to the 2024 AFCON. Saintfiet’s tenure was historic, as he secured the group’s first-ever qualification for the continental championship and repeated the feat in subsequent years.
McKinstry’s arrival marked a brand new chapter for Gambian soccer, with aspirations of constructing on the muse laid by his predecessor.
While the exit from the match has dissatisfied many, the coach emphasised the significance of endurance because the group works to refine its technique and efficiency.
