Kalipha MM Mbye takes over as clerk of the National Assembly
The Clerk of the National Assembly, Momodou A. Sise, has formally handed over his duties to Kalipha MM Mbye, marking a major transition within the management of the Assembly.
The handover ceremony, held at present (19 Dec.), was attended by each the Majority and Minority Leaders, and was presided over by the Speaker, Hon. Fabakary Tombong Jatta, who additionally serves because the Chairperson of the National Assembly Authority.
Mr. Sise’s retirement comes after a distinguished tenure as Clerk, a job he has held since 2018.
His successor, Mr. Mbye, was appointed throughout the Second Extra-Ordinary Session of the 2024 Legislative Year, following a movement tabled by the National Assembly Authority on nineteenth October 2024. Mr. Mbye formally assumes his new place at present.
In his remarks, Hon. Jatta praised Mr. Sise for his vital contributions to the National Assembly, acknowledging his dedication and repair.
