Miss Namibia Prepares for New Era of Miss Universe Competition in Thailand

By Auleria Wakudumo

Miss Namibia Johanna Swartbooi is intensifying her preparations for the Miss Universe competition, set to take place in Thailand later this month.

The prestigious international pageant is scheduled for November 21st, where Swartbooi will compete against approximately 120 to 130 contestants from around the world.

Contestants arrived in Thailand six days ago to begin their final preparations for the event. Swartbooi and her team are currently engaged in various pre-competition activities, including country introductions, talent showcases, evening gown presentations, and visits to Thai tourist attractions.

This year’s competition follows Namibia’s previous representation by Prisca Anyolo, who competed in last year’s Miss Universe pageant in Mexico. Anyolo advanced to the top 30 but did not progress to the final round.

Swartbooi earned her national title during the Miss Namibia finals held in July at Ngwediva, securing her place to represent the country on the global stage.
