The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it executed a sequence of profitable air interdictions focusing on 3 important enclaves of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Marte Local Government Area of Borno state on 31 October 2024.
An announcement Tuesday by NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa disclosed that the precision strikes targeted on recognized ISWAP strongholds within the villages of Tumbun Daribiyar, Jubularam, Buluwa, and Tumbu Karfe, marking a significant effort within the ongoing combat in opposition to terrorism in Nigeria’s Northeast.
According to him, an on-ground evaluation confirmed that roughly 50 terrorists, together with a high-ranking ISWAP commander generally known as Bashir Dauda, have been neutralized within the operation.
“Additionally, an ISWAP supply depot in the Jubularam enclave, filled with a substantial cache of food and essential items like beans, millet, and rice, was destroyed, effectively severing a critical resource line for the terrorists,” he mentioned.
He famous that these profitable air strikes, focusing on personnel and logistics, underscore NAF’s ongoing dedication to supporting floor forces and enhancing joint efforts to decimate terrorist strongholds within the area.
