The Chairman of National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketsia has reiterated that it is just NDC which has the willingness to develop the western rail strains.

Addressing a mini rally at Esuoso within the Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency as a part of his three days marketing campaign tour within the Western Region, he alleged that as a result of the members of NPP administration personal the haulage vans for the manganese and bauxite, they’re reluctant to assemble the rail strains.

He stated the following NDC administration will prioritize the railways trade.

Mr Asiedu Nketsia reaffirmed his occasion’s dedication to growing the Western Rail Lines. Speaking on the rally in Esuoso within the Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency, as a part of his three-day marketing campaign tour, Nketsia emphasised that the NDC is the one occasion keen to speculate on this vital infrastructure.

He talked about that “When former President Kufuor established a railway ministry, unfortunately, they dismantled the railways instead of developing them. The challenge is that some senior NPP members own haulage trucks that transport manganese and bauxite, making it difficult for them to support railway development. They’ve made promises to repair and construct the railways, but I’m skeptical. I believe President Mahama is the only one who can truly develop the Western Rail Lines. Let’s vote for the NDC to revive the railways, reduce haulage truck traffic, and boost business in Tarkwa.” He assured the constituents

The Western Rail Line, which runs from Takoradi Port to Kumasi, is a crucial transportation artery that has been in disrepair for years. Only 66 km of the 339 km line is at the moment operational.

The NDC’s plan to revitalize the railway trade might have a big affect on the native economic system, notably within the mining sector. The Ghana Manganese Mine at Nsuta and the bauxite mine at Awaso are each situated alongside the Western Line, and environment friendly rail transportation might tremendously scale back their operational prices.

Nketsia’s assertion comes on the heels of a $3.2 billion settlement signed by the federal government with Thelo DB of South Africa and Transtech Consult Limited of Ghana to improve the rail infrastructure from Huni Valley to Dunkwa.

However, the NDC Chairman’s feedback recommend that his occasion would prioritize the event of the Western Rail Lines, doubtlessly bringing much-needed funding and jobs to the area.

It’s value noting that the Western Rail Line has a wealthy historical past, courting again to 1898 when it was first constructed. With the NDC’s dedication to its growth, the area could quickly see a resurgence in financial exercise and development.
