NYSC Breaks Silence, As Lecturers Beat Corps Members In Ilorin
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reacted to the incident of a feminine National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Kwara State who was allegedly assaulted by lecturers at Government Day Junior Secondary School in Ilorin.
The incident occurred on November 28, 2024, when the corps member visited the college to gather her clearance letter.
According to eyewitnesses, a instructor attacked the corps member, tearing her NYSC white T-shirt, and was joined by one other instructor who allegedly slapped her.
Morakinyo Oladipo, the NYSC’s head of Information and Public Relations in Kwara State, confirmed the incident and acknowledged that the scheme would search redress for the assault in opposition to the corps member.
Oladipo added that the corps member can be reposted to a distinct location to assist her overcome the trauma.

The Anti-Loitering Team of the Ministry and the Management Team of the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission have visited the college to research the alleged assault case, and calm has been restored.
