Police examine homicide case in Banjul
Police in Banjul are investigating the alleged homicide of a 20-year-old man from Talinding, who reportedly died after an altercation with a truck driver on 18 November.
The suspect, a truck driver, surrendered himself to authorities at Banjul Terminal Police Station, claiming the incident occurred after he confronted the sufferer for allegedly trying to interrupt into his truck, which held D17,000.
The confrontation escalated, resulting in a bodily altercation throughout which the sufferer misplaced consciousness and was later pronounced lifeless on the hospital.
On 19 November, crime scene investigators and forensic consultants visited the situation to reconstruct the incident. Initial reviews point out the sufferer sustained a bruise with bloodstains in the back of his head.
The suspect has been charged with homicide and is presently in police custody.
Meanwhile, the physique of the deceased has been transported to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) for a autopsy examination to find out the precise reason behind dying.
