Police launch Mbemba Drammeh on bail amid election rigging probe
The Gambia Police Force (GPF) has launched Mbemba Drammeh on bail as investigations into his allegations of election rigging proceed.
Mr. Drammeh was arrested on Wednesday (Dec 25) following statements made throughout his look on Politic Katchaa, a political programme broadcast by Kerr Fatou, the place he alleged irregularities within the 2021 presidential election.
The police say the allegations have “serious national security implications” and have assured the general public of a radical and clear investigation.
While launched on bail, Mr. Drammeh stays below investigation as authorities work to confirm his claims. The GPF has urged residents to stay calm as inquiries proceed.
