The civil-suit that President Adama Barrow instituted towards The Voice newspaper firm and its editor-in-chief is ready for point out immediately on the High Court in Kanifing.

The Voice’s editor-in-chief and managing director Musa Sheriff was a fortnight in the past commanded by the High Court to seem earlier than it on Friday.

President Barrow has chosen to go down the authorized lane with The Voice and Mr. Sheriff following the paper’s refusal to retract a narrative about his reported succession plan and apologize to him.

It can be recalled that the paper reported some weeks in the past that Mr. Barrow was reportedly hatching an exit technique with profitable businessman Muhammed Jah as his successor for the 2026 normal election.

The President felt aggrieved by this report, saying it had put his identify into disrepute because it has engendered belief and confidence points within the NPP. The President claimed, amongst different issues, that the report has galvanized the NPP members into believing that he’s not a person of his phrases, that he has no intention to throw his hat into the ring come the 2026 election, that he has handpicked Muhammed Jah as his successor in a ceremony and that NPP executives had been averse to the choice.

Mr. Sheriff will seem earlier than Justice Kwabeng at the Kanifing High Court immediately at 11am.
