Despite world financial challenges, Barrow highlighted strides in tourism, infrastructure growth, and income assortment as key drivers of progress.

“Our economy is growing steadily, as confirmed by IMF reports,” he stated. “Our policies and programmes are paying dividends, and there are huge prospects,” he forward.

Tourism, a significant sector in The Gambia, has seen vital restoration, with over 233,000 guests recorded between October and December 2024.

Projections counsel this quantity will surpass 260,000 for the present season, cementing the sector’s position in boosting nationwide income.

Barrow additionally celebrated The Gambia’s rising worldwide stature, citing the profitable internet hosting of the OIC Summit in May 2024, the place he was elected chair of the organisation.

He famous that the nation now ranks third in Africa for defending freedom of expression, in accordance with Article 19’s 2024 report. “This demonstrates our commitment to democracy and the rule of law,” he stated.

While reflecting on successes, Barrow acknowledged challenges, together with crop failures in some farming communities.
