Simply in: INEC presents Certificates of Return to Ondo Gov. Aiyedatiwa, deputy

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has offered Certificates of Return to Ondo State Governor-elect Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Adelami Olayide.

The certificates have been formally offered in Abuja on Wednesday by Prof. Kunle Ajayi, the Supervisory National Commissioner for Ondo State.

This comes 4 days after INEC declared Aiyedatiwa the winner of the governorship election held on Saturday.

Aiyedatiwa, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured a landslide victory within the governorship election, defeating Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and 15 different candidates.

He gained overwhelmingly throughout all 18 native authorities areas, garnering 366,781 votes towards Ajayi’s 117,845 votes.
