Soludo challenges farmers, others to ‘best yam producing contest’ – Blueprint Newspapers Restricted

Anambra state Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Saturday, declared intention to have interaction with farmers and authorities appointees within the “best yam cultivator competition” slated for November, 2025.

Soludo, who disclosed this at 2024 State New Yam Festival held in Awka, described himself as a subsistence farmer apart being a governor, including that he would double efforts in an effort to produce greater yam value enabling him to emerge as the perfect in yam competitors.

The governor had on the 2024 New yam pageant doled out ₦1 million every to high 4 yam producers whereas the perfect or primary obtained ₦3 million and a tricycle donated by a philanthropist.

He additional mandated all of the political appointees, enterprise males and others to have interaction in farming particularly yam manufacturing in order to compete favourably with him within the subsequent 12 months contest as he was able to defeat them.
