Essau United have been crowned champions of the North Bank Regional Football Association (NBRFA) Third Division for the 2025/26 season, following a hard-fought 1-0 win over Blacka FA in the regional league final.
The match, which decided the regional title, saw both teams enter the halftime break deadlocked after a tightly contested opening period. According to a report from Madi Senghore, each side created scoring chances in the first half but neither could find the back of the net before the interval.
Decisive Second-Half Strike
The breakthrough came in the 56th minute, when Essau United forward Modou Manneh scored what proved to be the match-winner. His finish was enough to separate the two sides on the day.
Trailing by a single goal, Blacka FA pushed forward in search of an equaliser. However, Essau United’s defence held firm, repelling the pressure and preserving the lead through to the final whistle. The disciplined defensive performance ensured that Blacka FA could not extend their unbeaten run in the competition.
Championship Secured
The result not only ended Blacka FA’s undefeated streak in the tournament but also secured the regional championship trophy for Essau United, who completed their campaign by lifting the 2025/26 NBRFA Third Division Regional League title.
