Mutharika Appoints Lieutenant General Kalino as Deputy Chief of Defence

President Arthur Peter Mutharika has named Lieutenant General Kondwani Gift Kalino as the new Deputy Chief of Defence for the Malawi Defence Force (MDF), effective immediately.

The appointment was announced by Chief Secretary to the Government, Justin Saidi, who stated the decision was made under the powers granted to the President by Section 161(4) of the Constitution of the Republic of Malawi.
