AES: Sahelian Sovereignty on an Irreversible March

The contemporary history of the Sahel is now being written under a new sun: that of regained dignity, solidarity among sister nations, and a definitive break with foreign tutelage. With the Confederation of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger have taken a historic step: taking back control of their collective destiny. This courageous choice, led by three patriotic leaders – General Assimi Goïta, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, and General Abdourahamane Tiani – symbolizes the awakening of an Africa that no longer wants to suffer, but to act.

An alliance born of resistance and will

Bamada.net- The AES is not a facade alliance. It is the result of political, military, and moral resistance to decades of imposed interference and dependencies. The three states faced the same reality: instrumentalized terrorism, suffocated economies, and one-way international cooperation, where Sahelian peoples were mere spectators of their own tragedy.

Today, that era is over. The AES marks the transition to strategic autonomy, where decisions regarding security, resources, and diplomacy are now made in Bamako, Ouagadougou, and Niamey, and not elsewhere. This choice disturbs some Western partners, but it inspires and galvanizes millions of Africans who see in this union a model of continental rebirth.

A unified force to defend the freedom of peoples

The recent meeting in Niamey on November 7, 2025, between the Defense Ministers of the three member countries, marked a decisive step in the establishment of the unified force of the AES. Under the enlightened leadership of Sadio Camara (Mali), Célestin Simporé (Burkina Faso), and Salifou Mody (Niger), this joint force is poised to become the armed wing of Sahelian sovereignty.

Facing terrorist groups and those who profit from regional chaos, the armies of the AES are preparing to respond with one voice and one front. This military cooperation, based on trust and brotherhood, breaks with the logic of costly, ineffective, and often humiliating foreign interventions for our peoples.
