President Tinubu’s aide Daniel Bwala mocked Labour Party candidate Peter Obi as a “content creator” after Obi’s weekend church visit.
Obi, who ran in the 2023 presidential election, visited Koinonia Global, a ministry founded by Pastor Joshua Selman, on Sunday.
During the visit, he told congregants that politicians are the problem Nigeria is facing and urged believers to pray for leaders to stop stealing public funds. He also reiterated his position that the country’s core challenge is a leadership problem.
In a post on X, Bwala responded sharply to the visit, suggesting Obi’s actions were more about political campaigning than spiritual engagement.
He wrote that Obi had “resumed his ‘take back your country’ campaign” by visiting a church “where spiritual issues were discussed to campaign.”
Bwala further claimed Obi was seeking a “new customer in Pastor Selman, since the ones that gave him a platform in 2022-2023 found him out.”
He concluded that Obi “has been reduced to an effigy of content creation, but he would rather push sentiments and vitriol.”
The exchange marks the latest clash between the ruling party’s officials and the opposition figure as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections begin to take shape.
