Algeria and Somalia Strengthen Bilateral Relations Through Signed Agreements
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud co-chaired a ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Algiers, where multiple cooperation agreements were signed between the two nations across various sectors. These agreements included a memorandum of understanding in higher education between the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Somali Ministry of Education, Culture, and Higher Education. An executive program spanning the years 2026 to 2029 was also established.
Furthermore, agreements were reached in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, animal health, oil, gas, mining, and visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic passports. This visit signifies a significant milestone in enhancing the ties between Algeria and Somalia.
