Women of Vision International Ministries (WOVIM) recently concluded its landmark 28th Annual Convention, titled “The Winning Woman,” marking not just an event, but a testament to nearly three decades of profound spiritual and community impact. The four-day gathering, held from November 19-22, 2025, at the Amazement Centre in Lagos, served as both a vibrant spiritual retreat and a powerful reflection on a journey that began with a simple prayer meeting in a living room.

The convention’s theme, “The Winning Woman,” was brought to life through a dynamic program designed to address both spiritual and practical needs. Beyond powerful praise sessions and healing services, the ministry demonstrated its holistic approach with workshops on modern parenting—a critical resource in today’s rapidly changing society—and a lively debate segment fostering intellectual engagement. True to its mission of service, the event was punctuated by daily distributions of food and clothing, reinforcing that spiritual nourishment and physical support are inseparable pillars of the ministry’s work.

At the heart of the celebration was Founder Pastor Elizabeth Omoike’s poignant reflection on WOVIM’s origin story—a narrative that encapsulates the unexpected paths of divine calling. She recounted returning to Lagos from northern Nigeria as a teacher, with no ambition for pastoral ministry. Her appointment as the sole female minister at RCCG Dominion Chapel became a catalyst. “My home soon became a meeting point for women seeking prayer and counsel,” Pastor Omoike shared, highlighting an organic, needs-based beginning. This evolution from an informal prayer group to a formalized ministry is a masterclass in faithful stewardship: the pivotal moment of praying for a name, logo, and motto signifies the transition from a gathering to a God-ordained vision with identity and purpose.

The journey was not without its tests. Pastor Omoike candidly noted early leadership transitions that threatened stability, a common yet critical challenge for growing organizations. Her insight reveals the ministry’s core strength: prayer as an operational anchor. This resilience, built over 28 years, offers a powerful model for other faith-based initiatives—that sustainable growth is forged in both triumph and trial.

A significant portion of the convention was dedicated to honoring the collaborative engine behind the mission. Pastor Omoike expressed deep gratitude to her vice, Pastor Faith Ikekhide, for 27 years of partnership, and to the vast network of chapter coordinators, zonal leaders, prayer teams, and volunteers. This acknowledgment underscores a vital leadership principle: legacy is a collective endeavor. The “steady growth and smooth running” she credited to their loyalty highlights that institutional endurance relies on shared ownership of the vision across all levels of the organization.

Pastor Omoike also traced her personal spiritual lineage, paying tribute to her roots in Deeper Life Bible Church and mentors like Bishop Ransome Bello and Bola Odutola. This acknowledgment provides crucial context, reminding us that transformative leaders are often products of formative discipleship and mentorship, which they in turn replicate.

As the convention closed, WOVIM reaffirmed its mission of “building homes on the Word.” This phrase encapsulates their comprehensive strategy: strengthening individuals spiritually to fortify families and, by extension, communities. The 28th convention was more than an anniversary; it was a living demonstration of a vision that has matured from a home fellowship into an international ministry capable of winning women—and their communities—through faith, service, and unwavering commitment. The event solidifies WOVIM’s role as a beacon of practical Christianity, showing how sustained vision, anchored in prayer and service, can generate decades of tangible impact.
