Cool Weather Persists with Showers and Thunderstorms Across Mozambique this Sunday

The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) has issued its weather forecast for this Sunday, the 1281st day of the nation’s Public Health Emergency of International Concern.

Northern and Central Regions

In the northern provinces of Niassa, Cabo Delgado, and Nampula, expect partly to very cloudy skies. The region will see continued showers, some with thunderstorms. Light rain is forecast, with the potential for moderate to heavy downpours in Cabo Delgado and Niassa. Winds will be weak to moderate, blowing from the southeast to east.

For the central provinces of Tete, Zambézia, Manica, and Sofala, conditions will be partly cloudy to very cloudy. Localized light rains are expected, which may reach moderate levels in Manica and could be accompanied by thunderstorms. Winds will be weak to moderate, shifting from southeast to southwest.

Southern Region

INAM forecasts partly cloudy skies for the southern provinces of Inhambane, Gaza, and Maputo, with periods of increased cloud cover. There is a possibility of local light rains. A weak to moderate southeasterly wind is expected, occasionally shifting to an easterly direction.
