Faso Mbo Initiative Receives Major Boost with Over 6 Tons of Cement and Equipment

The presidential initiative Faso Mbo received significant support on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Tenkodogo, with donations totaling 6.5 tons of cement and various construction materials from two community organizations.

Community Support for City Beautification

Substantial reinforcements arrived for the Faso Mbo initiative as the citizen watch of Silmiougou village, located 18 km from Tenkodogo, delivered 2 tons of cement, three truckloads of sand, 20 shovels, and 22 pairs of gloves.

According to Noufou Sorgho, president of the citizen watch, the donation was made possible through the unity and solidarity of Silmiougou’s population. “The village’s youth, diaspora, and gold panners mobilized 375,000 CFA francs to support the beautification of Tenkodogo,” Sorgho explained.

Youth Engagement from Zons Commune

In a parallel effort, the youth of Zons commune, situated 70 km south of Zoungrantenga city, contributed 3.5 tons of cement, two wheelbarrows, two shovels, and various small tools on the same day.

Lassan Gouba, Secretary-General of the Zons youth, emphasized their motivation: “We are the first beneficiaries of the country’s construction. If Tenkodogo is built, Zons will get its share.”

Gouba further explained that their action responds to President Captain Ibrahim Traor’s call for Burkinabè to build their own country. “We are convinced that what we are giving will be used to build the nation. We don’t want Zons commune to remain on the sidelines of this initiative,” he added, noting the donation’s value at 450,000 CFA francs.
