Gabon Embraces Ivorian Expertise to Drive Transport Digitalization

In a significant move for South-South cooperation, Gabon is turning to Côte d’Ivoire’s advanced digital solutions to modernize its own commercial transport systems. This collaboration follows a recent assessment mission by Gabon’s Office of Ports and Harbors (OPRAG) to Abidjan.

A Reciprocal Visit for Digital Trade

Kitifolo Kignaman Soro, Director General of Côte d’Ivoire’s Single Window for Foreign Trade (GUCE-CI), was received in Libreville by Gabon’s Minister of Transport, Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi. During the meeting, Mr. Soro presented the innovative digital tools developed by GUCE-CI, which are designed to streamline the management of multimodal transport—a solution highly relevant for upgrading Gabon’s national logistics chains.

Laying the Groundwork for Partnership

Both parties have agreed to swiftly organize a technical meeting involving key departments such as ports, customs, and land transport. The objective is to study how to adapt these Ivorian digital platforms to the Gabonese context and to establish the foundation for a concrete, inter-administrative partnership.
