In response to the call from Téra made by the President of the Republic, Head of State, Army General Abdourahamane Tiani, for a voluntary monthly contribution of 100 francs per person to benefit the FSSP, civilian and military retirees mobilized on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in Niamey to lend their support to the country’s construction.
The elderly thus gathered at the Mutual of the National Police and the National Guard of Niger for a fundraising event benefiting the Solidarity Fund for the Safeguarding of the Homeland (FSSP).
This voluntary contribution raised the sum of 250,235 FCFA. In his address, the President of the National Union of Civilian and Military Retirees of Niger, Commander Oumarou Garba, stated that this contribution is a patriotic act. “Not only have we served the country for many years, but we told ourselves that following the President’s call, we must respond. All the associations responded and we will continue to serve our very dear country, Niger,” he expressed.
For his part, the Vice-President of the FSSP management committee, Mr. Amadou Brah, noted that through this contribution, the retirees have shown their attachment to the ideals of the CNSP. “It is not the amount that is important, but rather the gesture. On behalf of the highest authorities, I wish to thank these elderly people who turned out in large numbers to contribute to the collective effort,” he concluded.
