Scheduled Power Outage for Grid Maintenance to Affect Parts of Marrakech
Residents in specific areas of Marrakech should prepare for a temporary disruption to their electricity supply next week. The Marrakech-Safi Regional Multi-Services Company has announced a scheduled power outage to allow for essential maintenance work on the local electrical grid.
Essential Maintenance for a Reliable Network
In a move to bolster the long-term reliability and quality of its services, the utility company is conducting proactive upgrades. This planned work is a crucial part of the ongoing effort to modernize infrastructure and secure the city’s electricity supply for the future. While inconvenient in the short term, such maintenance is the backbone of a stable power network, helping to prevent unplanned outages down the line.
Affected Areas and Timings
The power supply interruption is scheduled for Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
The outage will last from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM and will impact the following locations:
- A section of November 18 Street, specifically the area in front of the ISTP (Institute of Technical and Professional Specialties).
- A portion of Al-Muzdalifah Street, directly in front of the Regional Directorate of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS).
What Residents Need to Know
The company has extended its thanks to customers for their understanding and cooperation. It is advising those in the affected zones to take necessary precautions ahead of the two-hour window.
Residents are also reminded that power restoration could occur before the stated 11:00 AM deadline without prior notice. Crews will work as efficiently as possible to complete the maintenance and restore service ahead of schedule if feasible.
