Sponsorship

Abuja,Dec.10,2025 (NAN) Stakeholders have urged increased sponsorship for the 2025 Comptroller-General of Customs ( CGC) Volleyball Premier League as the competition continues in Abuja.
Some of the stakeholders who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja, said that additional financial support was crucial for the growth and sustainability of the championship.
Coach Sulaiman Ajeigbe of the Nigeria Customs Service Women’s Volleyball team who assessed the overall organisation of the championship, commended the officials for consistent improvements while urging continued investment in the sport.
He said more sponsors were needed to strengthen the league’s structure and enhance the experience for participating teams.
“They should try and look for more sponsorship because one sponsor cannot do it.
“ We need more, and we are encouraging the federation to do more so that we can have a more fulfilled championship,” he said.
Ajeigbe also commended the organisers for steady improvements in the tournament’s coordination, adding that the quality of organisation has continued to advance each year.
“ The organisation is improving day in, day out, and we hope it continues at this level so that, at the end of the day, we have a much better championship,” he said.
On security, Ajeigbe expressed satisfaction but maintained that there is room for improvement.
“As far as I’m concerned, the security is okay. It’s a good one, but they just have to improve more on it,” he noted.
Similarly, NAF Rockets head coach, Siyeyetoma Briggs, emphasised the need for a broader corporate support to enhance the league’s competitiveness and contribute to volleyball development nationwide.
“The league needs more sponsors. This Premier League has helped the Nigerian female and male teams perform well in recent international competitions.
“ This is glaring with the recent achievements of the Nigeria Customs Service women’s team, that returned from an international outing with a trophy,” he said.
Other coaches said that with improved sponsorship, the League would not only attract greater visibility but also produce stronger teams capable of representing Nigeria effectively on the global stage.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
