The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Emergency Ward at Tema General Hospital has been renovated and officially handed over to hospital management.
The project was funded by Godswill Kwesi Letsu Grey, Chief Executive Officer of GREY Pacific Ghana Limited.
The work included refurbishing the emergency ward, a conference room, and other facilities within the unit. The handover took place at an inauguration ceremony on Thursday.
Mr Grey said his motivation for supporting healthcare facilities comes from his faith and a desire to benefit society. He stated that hospitals should offer patients safe, comfortable, and supportive environments that aid healing.
He noted that the company had donated medicines to the hospital the previous year and decided this year to support it with infrastructure and equipment.
Mr Grey added that the initiative is part of a broader effort to assist hospitals with infrastructure and medical resources, stressing that saving lives should be a collective priority.
Dr Ralph Armah, the hospital’s Medical Director, expressed gratitude to GREY Pacific Ghana Limited for the gesture. He commended the hospital staff for their dedication and hard work, saying the renovated facility would significantly improve the quality of healthcare delivery.
Dr Armah said the refurbished facilities would enhance emergency care for women and also support healthcare education and training.
He urged other organisations and individuals to follow the example by supporting healthcare institutions with the resources needed to improve service delivery and save lives.
