Seven electricians from the nation’s utility firm NAWEC are reportedly killed after an previous electrical pole fell onto dwell wires, leading to prompt electrocution.

The incident occurred in Kerr Galo, close to Essau, whereas the crew was engaged in changing growing older poles.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene as emergency companies arrived.

“It was devastating to see. They were just doing their job when the accident happened,” a neighborhood resident is quoted as saying.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to find out the protection protocols in place and the situation of the infrastructure concerned.
