About Us
West Africa News Agency (WANA)
The West Africa News Agency (WANA) is an independent, Pan–West African media organization dedicated to delivering accurate, credible, and timely journalism across the West African sub-region and to audiences worldwide. The organization is not owned by, influenced, funded or affiliated to any political or regional entity. Its governance, editorial decisions, and news priorities are determined solely by the organization in pursuit of accurate, credible, and public-interest journalism for West Africa and its global diaspora.
WANA was established to strengthen independent journalism, expand access to reliable information, and amplify West African perspectives in regional and global discourse. We report on governance, politics, economy, security, development, environment, culture, technology, sports, and human-interest stories that shape the lives of people across West Africa.
Operating through a growing network of professional journalists, editors, analysts, and contributors, WANA upholds the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and accountability. Our reporting is driven by public interest and guided by internationally recognized journalism ethics.
Through digital platforms, content syndication, and media partnerships, WANA serves citizens, institutions, researchers, policymakers, and the West African diaspora with trusted and responsible news coverage.
