Gambians from all walks of life, together with soccer followers and fanatics, have paid transferring tribute to the previous Gambian worldwide and goalkeeper Wandeh Njie, who handed away within the United Kingdom after battling a protracted sickness.

He mentioned: “we knew each other through football and he was a good brother of mine. He was a jovial man who cared for everyone.”

Aunty Ndey Njie, organic sister to the deceased, additionally described her late brother as somebody who was a pivotal determine within the household.

“He was a good brother, who respected everyone in the family. We will surely miss him in the family,” she mentioned.

Waka Jagne, a childhood buddy of the deceased, described him as a “good friend of mine” whose demise “saddens me.”

Some have lashed out on the authorities for not offering a state funeral to such a legend and expressed disappointment on the absence of the minister of youths and sports activities on the funeral.
