President-elect Mahama pays courtesy calls on West African leaders
As President-elect John Dramani Mahama prepares for his inauguration on January 7, he has began visiting leaders of neighbouring nations within the West Africa subregion.
He started the courtesy calls on Monday, sixteenth December, with a go to to President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria on the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu was current to welcome him.
In Abuja, President-elect Mahama prolonged an invite to President Tinubu, who can also be the Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State to his inauguration on January 7, as they work collectively to strengthen their collaboration and deepen ties throughout the ECOWAS group.
They mentioned their shared imaginative and prescient for progress and unity, which was important for the expansion and stability of the West Africa subregion.
On Friday, December 20, the President-elect was additionally within the Togolese capital Lomé to pay a courtesy name on President Faure Gnassingbé.
The President-elect in a gathering with the Togolese chief, reiterated why it was vital to proceed strengthening the bonds throughout the subregion.
“Working together, we can better impact the lives of our people, who are connected in many ways, including tribe, history, and economy,” Mr Mahama stated.
On Saturday, December 21, the President-elect took his courtesy name to President Patrice Talon of Benin, in Cotonou.
During their assembly, Mr Mahama famous that he was dedicated to strengthening Ghana’s relations with all its West African neighbours.
