Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune spoke by phone with Niger’s leader, General Abdourahamane Tiani, on Monday to review the situation in Niger, according to a statement from the Algerian Presidency.
The call covered the current conditions in Niger, with President Tebboune reportedly thanking and praising his counterpart for efforts to thwart an attempt to destabilize the country.
In response, General Tiani reassured President Tebboune that the situation is fully under control and expressed gratitude for Algeria’s solidarity with Niger and its people.
President Tebboune reiterated that Algeria will continue to stand by Niger, its people, and its institutions, offering support across all fields and under all circumstances.
The two leaders also discussed the progress of joint projects agreed upon during General Tiani’s recent visit to Algeria, which the statement described as a strong driver of development for Niger.
