Triangle d’Or and Déguerpir 2 have secured their places in the final of the Mondialito football tournament in Guiglo, scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Both teams won their semi-final matches by a single goal, setting up a decisive clash in the Cavally region.

Triangle d’Or claimed the first final spot on Saturday, August 29, with a 1-0 victory over Liverpool, played in the courtyard of the Guiglo 2 public primary school (EPP).

Déguerpir 2 followed on Sunday, August 30, defeating Nicla by the same scoreline to take the second ticket.

The tournament, now in its 12th edition, carries a broader message of peace and unity for the communities of Guiglo and the Cavally region.

According to the president of the organizing committee, Aristide Doho, known as “President Ario,” the event gives young people and different segments of the population a chance to come together around football and share messages of peace and living together.

“Football is a means of bringing people together and strengthening ties between communities,” Doho said, adding that team captains also help spread these messages during matches.

Launched on July 25, 2026, the tournament has brought together 24 teams over a 42-day period. The final will mark the close of the competition, with the winning team receiving a prize of 2.5 million FCFA.

The event is held under the patronage of Anne Désirée Ouloto-Lamizana, president of the Cavally regional council, and chaired by the mayor of Guiglo, Benoît Séverin Baillet.

It is co-sponsored by Guy Hervé Serodé, deputy of Guiglo-commune, and business operator Francky Cacao.
