Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in Fada N’Gourma have contributed to a local development project by donating construction materials and helping produce paving stones.
The civic action took place on Saturday, 29 August 2026, at the Faso Mêbo Agency site in the commune.
The donation included 1.5 tonnes of cement, six shovels, five pickaxes, and ten packs of drinking water. In addition to the equipment, the volunteers took part in making paving stones intended for the development of local infrastructure.
Speaking on behalf of the group, VDP spokesperson Paul Bangou said the volunteers are committed to both security and national development. “We are on the ground to fight for peace, but we must also build.
That is why we have agreed to contribute with what we can to take part in the construction of our country,” he said.
Bangou described the initiative as a “second revolution” and said he fully aligns with it, citing his long-standing commitment to the nation.
He welcomed the realization of the community development program, which he said was eagerly awaited by the population, and called on all citizens to mobilize to carry the work of national construction to completion.
