A public health researcher reviewing evidence across sub-Saharan Africa says smartphones, mobile money and football's popularity have made betting part of daily digital life for young people. Survey data from six countries shows most active bettors use mobile devices and favour football, while regulation of online gambling and advertising remains uneven.
