Kévin Denkey: The Togolese Striker Who Can’t Be Stopped – Another Brace for Cincinnati FC

In the heart of the American Midwest, a West African goal-scoring machine is rewriting the narrative of Major League Soccer. Togolese international Kévin Denkey delivered yet another masterclass on Saturday night, powering Cincinnati FC to a decisive 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls in the 10th matchday of the MLS season.

Denkey opened the scoring in the 40th minute with a clinical finish, before stepping up to convert a penalty deep into first-half stoppage time (45+5). The brace—his second in as many matches—snapped a three-game winless streak for the Orange and Blue, and earned him the Man of the Match award.

This development occurs against a backdrop of remarkable consistency for the 24-year-old. With six goals and one assist in nine MLS appearances, Denkey is not merely finding form; he is asserting dominance. Industry insiders suggest his movement off the ball and composure in front of goal have elevated him to the ranks of the league’s most feared forwards.

The implications for Cincinnati FC are clear: with 12 points and an 18th-place standing, the team is still climbing the table, but Denkey’s firepower provides a reliable foundation. For Togolese football, his performances in North America serve as a powerful testament to the talent emerging from the region.

As the season progresses, all eyes will remain on the striker who, for now, appears truly unstoppable.
