Gao authorities held a flag-raising ceremony Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at the departmental high school, gathering deconcentrated service heads, community representatives, FDS, VDP and students.

The ceremony, described as a tradition organized around social cohesion and patriotic commitment, was coordinated by the head of the Gao road security post (PSR), Paré Baba Harouna.

In his remarks, Paré stressed the importance of closer ties between the different components of society. He said strengthening social cohesion and reinforcing bonds of familiarity among actors were essential levers for consolidating the progressive and popular revolution.

He invited participants to use such gatherings as opportunities to reinforce their civic commitment and their attachment to the ideals of the nation.

Before the ceremony closed, the monthly schedule for the upcoming flag-raising ceremonies was shared with participants, with the aim of ensuring regular participation and greater mobilization of the different components of the community.
