ECOWAS Resident Representation in Senegal has a consolidated programming and budgeting framework for 2027 to 2029 after a five-day workshop in Pointe Sarène from September 15 to 19, 2026.
The workshop reviewed activities carried out during the 2025-2026 period, assessing their physical and financial execution, identifying constraints encountered and drawing lessons to guide future interventions by the Representation, according to a report from the Economic Community of West African States.
Sessions also covered the formulation of activity programming and budgeting for the 2027-2029 period. The stated aim was to better anticipate needs, ensure coherent resource allocation and align the work with both ECOWAS institutional guidelines and the Representation’s own priorities.
Participants worked through presentations, technical exchanges and group sessions, contributing to the setting of priorities, the planning of activities, the assignment of responsibilities and the establishment of a monitoring system to evaluate results achieved.
At the close of the workshop, the Representation held a consolidated programming and budgeting framework for 2027-2029, built on lessons from the 2025-2026 cycle and intended to strengthen the coherence, tracking and performance of its interventions.
ECOWAS resident representations are the bloc’s standing offices in member states, and their programming cycles typically set out which activities an office will pursue and how they will be funded over a multi-year period.
The workshop’s stated focus was on operational efficiency and alignment with the commission’s strategic direction.
