Jerry Adams, the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate in Kaduna State, has called on voters in Southern Kaduna and the Christian community to back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in the 2027 general elections. Adams, a former chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), made the appeal through his representative, Samuel Atung, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, at the 31st Choral Convention held in Kaduna.
Appeal Rooted in Development Record
Speaking at the event themed “Let Your Light Shine,” Adams argued that the Southern Kaduna region has seen tangible benefits under the current APC administrations. He pointed to what he described as massive infrastructure development and appointments into federal and state positions as evidence of the government’s commitment to the area. According to Adams, these actions warrant reciprocal support from the electorate, urging residents to look beyond partisan lines and judge leaders on their performance and contributions to the community.
Endorsement for Senatorial Candidate
In his address, Adams specifically endorsed Senator Sunday Marshall Katung as the right choice for the Southern Kaduna senatorial seat. He praised Katung’s legislative interventions and his contributions to the region’s development, framing the senator as a leader who has demonstrated a tangible commitment to the people’s welfare.
A Call for Strategic Political Engagement
Beyond the immediate election cycle, Adams encouraged the Christian community and the people of Southern Kaduna to remain united and engage strategically in the political process. He stressed that their votes should be used to consolidate development and support leaders who have shown a proven dedication to their constituents. The choral convention, which served as the backdrop for this political appeal, was jointly organized by the Non-denominational Christian Association of Nigeria (NCCN) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) as a gathering for worship through music.
